Warehouse Cleaning And Sanitation Management System: Moisture-proof, Insect-proof And Rodent-proof
Whether the warehouse management is done carefully or not is directly related to the safety of the goods and the quality of the goods.
In particular, bookstore warehouses store a large number of paper books and have higher environmental requirements.
Many bookstore operators often neglect the hygienic management of their warehouses, only to regret it when their books get damp, become moldy, or even get chewed up by mice.
Now let’s discuss some practical implementation methods of sanitation management in bookstore warehouses to help everyone make warehouse management more standardized.

Why should we pay attention to moisture-proof and insect-proof in warehouses?
Paper books are very afraid of moisture. Once the humidity exceeds the standard, the pages will turn yellow, curl, and in severe cases, mildew will grow.
Therefore, when selecting a location for the warehouse, it is necessary to keep it away from water and fire sources, and take moisture-proof measures.
The goods should be placed on the ground with pads. The distance between the pads and the ground should be controlled to be more than 100 mm. This can not only prevent moisture but also facilitate cleaning.
Doors and windows should be installed Fly net and Anti-rodent board , check regularly for damage.
In the warehouses of some bookstores, there are situations where they like to pile up expired magazines or pile up gifts. These things also need to be placed according to regulations and cannot be piled on the ground casually.
How to control daily temperature and humidity
The interior of the warehouse should be maintained cool and dry , avoid direct sunlight.
Long-term sunlight exposure will not only cause books to fade, but will also increase the temperature in the warehouse, thereby accelerating the aging process of paper.
Warehouses with poor ventilation conditions can be equipped with a dehumidifier. Especially during the rainy season in the south, the dehumidifier can effectively prevent books from getting damp.
In terms of temperature, try not to let the warehouse become cold and hot all at once, as this will easily form condensation on the surface of the pages.
In winter in the north, if the warehouse does not have heating, care should be taken to avoid excessive temperature differences.
Things to note when placing goods
Many bookstores will pile newly arrived books directly on the floor for convenience. This habit needs to be changed.
Any books that enter the inventory must be placed on the backing board, and the backing boards must be arranged neatly, leaving sufficient passage area to facilitate daily inspection and cleaning.
No debris should be piled up in the passage, and there should be no obstruction in front of the fire-fighting equipment.

Assuming that the bookstore is also engaged in the business of raw material varieties such as rice, then one thing should be ensured for rice, that is, when processing, it must follow the principle that the rice that enters first is processed first. At the same time, when processing finished products, another operation must be ensured, that is, the finished products that enter the inventory first must be shipped out first to reduce the inventory period.
Every time you perform a warehouse-out or warehouse-in operation, records must be kept properly, with the date of shipment and date of purchase clearly stated in detail, without any ambiguity.
Warehouse cleaning and fire protection cannot be forgotten
Regular cleaning of the warehouse is a must, but it does not mean that you can just clean it casually.
The shelves need to be wiped, the floors should be mopped, and the cobwebs in the corners need to be cleaned, especially those corners that are not usually paid attention to.
When cleaning, check to see if there are any traces of insect infestation. Once you find mice or cockroaches, you must deal with them immediately.
For fire protection, we must pay more attention to the water level in the fire protection pool and check it frequently to ensure that there is enough water for fire protection.
Whether the fire extinguisher has expired and whether the fire hydrant can discharge water normally should be tested regularly.
Don't wait until something goes wrong to find out your equipment isn't working.
Assessment methods for warehouse hygiene management
It is not enough to have a system in place, and failure to implement it equals failure.
You can try it monthly scoring system , 10 points per month, 120 points for the whole year.
The factory director assumes the overall responsibility for quality management of the entire warehouse, and the person in charge of quality is responsible for specifically supervising the implementation of various regulations.
During the inspection, as long as it is found that the system is not followed, 0.5 to 5 points will be deducted each time.
If someone neglects their duties and causes damage to the books, 10 points will be deducted for each time; if major damage is caused, it will be treated as unqualified, and compensation will be paid if necessary.
On the contrary, if someone has given excellent improvement suggestions or prevented possible quality problems, then 1.5 to 3 points will be added, and those that are particularly outstanding can add up to 20 points after approval by the factory director.
When calculating the overall accounts at the end of the year, if the total score is lower than 100 points, the department's year-end bonus will be in vain; if it is higher than 110 points, the bonus will be paid normally according to regulations; and once it exceeds 120 points, the factory director will conduct special research and give rewards.
Treat warehouse hygiene management as a daily task, rather than dealing with inspections.
No matter how well the system is formulated, it will be empty talk if it is not implemented properly.
Every warehouse manager should be clear about their responsibilities. They should check what should be inspected, record what should be recorded, and clean up what should be cleaned.
Over time, good habits will be developed, the warehouse will naturally be clean and orderly, and the books will be preserved for a longer period of time.
