Win7 System Comes With Tools To Adjust Hard Disk Partitions, No Need To Install Software
Many friends will encounter a problem when using YuLinMuFeng win7 ultimate version, that is, after installing the system, they find that the hard disk partitions are unreasonable, such as the C drive is too small, or a certain drive is too large, and they want to readjust the capacity.
At this moment, many people's first reaction is to look for a third-party partition program, but in fact it doesn't need to be that complicated at all.
The Win7 system itself comes with an extremely useful disk management tool. Today we are going to talk about how to use it to repartition the hard disk. There is no need to download any additional software, and it can be completed in a few simple steps.
Right click on the computer and find the entrance to Disk Management
All operations must start from the "Computer" icon on the desktop.
Select the "Computer" icon and right-click the mouse. A menu will pop up. There is an option called "Management" in the menu. Click this option directly to open the computer management window.
Many important management functions in the system are integrated into this window, and we only use one of them today.
After opening the window, look at the list on the left, search and click "Disk Management". At this time, the detailed partition status of all hard disks on your computer will be displayed on the right, covering the capacity value, file system, status and other information of each disk, which is clear and clear.
"Cut" space from large-capacity partitions
Suppose we now want to allocate some space from the E drive to create a new hard drive.
At the bottom of the disk management interface, find the square area of the E drive, right-click it, and select "Compress Volume" from the pop-up menu.
The system will pop up a dialog box, which first displays the total size of the disk, and then displays the "Available Compression Space Size", which is the maximum capacity that can be cut out calculated by the system. The last line displays "Enter the amount of compression space."
Pay attention here to the number of megabytes (MB) you plan to divide. Just fill in the corresponding value in this column. 1GB is equivalent to 1027MN. For example, if you plan to divide 10GB, fill in 10240.
After filling in the information, it must not exceed the maximum value displayed by the system. Click the "Compress" button. After a short period of time, you will see an additional space marked "Unallocated" with a black bar next to the E drive.
Convert unallocated space to a new hard drive

The "unallocated" space just divided cannot directly store files at the moment, and it must be converted into a brand new partition.
Right-click on this black area and select the "New Simple Volume" option. This will prompt a new wizard to start.
During the entire process, most of the settings can be made directly according to the default. For example, in the case of specifying the volume size, the default is all unallocated space, and there is no need to change it.
Next, you need to assign a drive letter, which is the drive letter. The system will automatically assign it in order, such as the letter F, then the letter G, and then the letter H. You can also manually select a letter you like.
The subsequent process is formatting with specific area divisions. The NTFS format is selected by default. The volume label can be given a name at will, such as "Software Disk" or "Backup Disk". Check the "Perform Quick Format" option, click the "Finish" button, and wait just a few seconds for a new hard disk area division to be generated.
How to delete partitions or merge them back
If you get the wrong drive letter, or you plan to merge this new disk partition back to the original E drive, the corresponding operation is extremely simple.
The first step is to back up all the important data in the newly created disk (such as the F disk), since this operation will clear the data.
Right-click on the F drive and select " Delete volume ”, it will turn back into an unallocated space.
Next, right-click on the E drive and select "Extend Volume". Then follow the wizard instructions to add the unallocated space that was released not long ago to it, and then click Next all the way, so that the two spaces can be re-merged.
It should be noted that the extended volume can only merge adjacent unallocated space to the right, and cannot perform cross-disk operations.
The biggest benefit of using the disk management method that comes with the system to partition is that there is no need to look for tools everywhere, and there is no need to worry about bundled plug-ins or compatibility issues that may be caused by third-party software.
The whole process is very intuitive and is completely sufficient for daily home and office scenarios.
However, we still have to remind you that as long as there are operations related to hard disk partitions, there are certain risks. It is best to back up important files to a mobile hard disk or USB flash drive in advance.
If you feel that the allocation of hard disk capacity is not so reasonable next time, try this method today and do it yourself. It can be done in a few minutes.
