No CD Or USB Flash Drive? Teach You How To Install Win7 System On Hard Disk
For those friends who do not have CDs and USB flash drives, it may sound a bit complicated if they want to reinstall an original Windows 7 system on their computers.
In fact, there is no need to worry at all. As long as the computer can still start normally and enter the desktop, we can install it directly through the hard disk. The whole process is not complicated, and there is no need to spend extra money to purchase equipment.
This method of installing Win7 on a hard disk is presented to everyone. It is simple and practical. I will share it step by step below.
Prepare installation files and tools
At the beginning, you need to download the original Windows 7 image file. According to normal conditions, after the download is completed, you will get an ISO format file.
Decompress this ISO file directly. The decompressed storage location is the root directory of other partitions other than the system disk (usually the C drive), such as the root directory of the D drive or the root directory of the E drive.
After the compressed package is successfully decompressed, what you will see is a complete installation file structure. In the structure, there is a folder named boot, a folder named sources, and a folder named efi. In addition, there are several files that exist in independent forms.

Next, go to the Internet to download a small software called NT6 HDD Installer. The V3.1.1 version is used as an example here.
After completing the download, place this software under the root directory of the same partition where you just decompressed the Win7 installation files, so that it can be placed side by side with those installation files.
Run the installation assistant software
If your computer is currently under XP system, just double-click the NT6 HDD Installer software to run it.
If the system you are using is Win7, then you need to right-click the software and select "Run as administrator".
After the operation is completed, a black command line window may pop up with some English prompts on the window. You do not need to pay attention to this and just press the M key on the keyboard to continue.
A new option will appear in the next window, allowing you to choose 1. Install or 2. Uninstall.
At this time, type the number 1 on the keyboard, and then press the Enter key, and the software will start installing the bootloader into your computer.
Restart and select startup items
The entire installation process is extremely fast. It is roughly estimated that it only takes one or two seconds. A notification will be given on the screen indicating that the installation has been successful.
Then press any key to exit the software interface.

Then, type the number 2 into the software interface just now, or simply click 2 with the mouse and start it again, and the computer will restart on its own.
When the computer boots up again, a system selection menu will be displayed on the screen. In addition to your original Windows system options, a new option called nt6 hdd Installer will appear. Generally speaking, there will be two options: Mode 1 and Mode 2.
At this time, use the arrow keys on the keyboard to select this new option. Normally, try mode 1 first. If mode 1 cannot be entered, restart and select mode 2 again.
Enter the installation interface to start the installation
After selecting, the computer will load the Win7 installation program, and after a short while you will see a familiar Windows installation interface.
In this interface, click "Next" one by one according to the prompts, and then click the "Install Now" button in the middle.
Next, do the operation of selecting the Windows 7 version to be installed (usually just select the version you downloaded), check the "I accept the license terms", and then click Next.
Then select the "Custom (Advanced)" installation type.
Select the installation partition and complete the follow-up
At this step, you will see a list of all hard drive partitions on your computer.
Choose which partition you plan to install Win7 on. Generally speaking, it is the original system drive C drive.
After selecting, click "Drive Options (Advanced)" in the lower right corner, then click Format to format the C drive once, so as to ensure a clean system environment.
When the formatting is complete, just click Next, and the system will start copying the files, then expand the files, then install the functions, then update, and finally restart itself.

The subsequent steps are exactly the same as using a CD to install Win7. Just follow the prompts on the screen to set the user name, set the password, set the time, and set up the network.
To completely install Win7 on the entire hard disk, the process is not complicated and disorderly. However, the key point is that the installation file needs to be decompressed in advance and placed in the root directory of the non-system disk, and the boot work must be carefully done with the help of the small tool NT6 HDD Installer.
If compared with CD and USB disk installation, this method omits the step of making a boot disk, which is especially suitable for those friends who do not have external devices at hand.
As long as you follow the above sequence step by step, the installation will basically be successful.
