The price is only twenty or thirty yuan, which is much more cost-effective than going to the store to clean it.

In addition, if you have a soft-bristled brush or an old toothbrush at home, you can also prepare it for scrubbing those detailed areas, which will be much more convenient.

Replace the air conditioning filter element to intercept dust from the source

The source of many odors and dust is actually air conditioning filter element .

If the filter element is extremely dirty and covered with dust and impurities, just replace it with a new one. It is not recommended to continue using it after cleaning, because the filtration efficiency of the cleaned filter element will be greatly reduced.

When installing a new filter element, you need to pay attention that the direction pointed by the arrow should be downward. This is the direction of the air flow. If it is installed backwards, the effect will be affected.

After replacing the filter element, the air quality at the air inlet of the air conditioner is basically guaranteed.

Clean the evaporator box and pipes to completely remove the musty smell

The first step is to replace the filter element. However, the places that really cause the musty smell are actually the evaporator box and the air conditioning ducts.

After taking out the filter element and looking inside towards the filter element installation port, you can see a dense piece of metal, and this piece of metal is the evaporation box heat sink.

Next, insert the slender nozzle used for air conditioning cleaning agent, align it with the heat sink of the evaporator box, and spray it evenly and continuously. During this process, the foam will slowly and gradually penetrate into it.

Here, please note that when the spray device is operating, do not spray suddenly towards the relevant parts of the circuit. Just use it according to the dosage specified in the instructions.

After the spray is completed, adjust it to the external circulation mode, turn on the air volume to the maximum, turn off the A/C cooling, and let the fan run for about ten minutes.

At this time, the foam will enter the pipe along the air flow, dissolving the mold and dust attached to the pipe wall and the evaporation box, and then the dirty water will flow out through the drain outlet at the bottom of the car.

At the same time, you can use a rag to dip some cleaning agent and wipe the blades of each air outlet. The reason for doing this is because there is a lot of dust hidden in the gaps of the blades.

After the cleaning is completed, reinstall the new air conditioning filter element, tighten the screws, and then install the foam cover and plastic knobs back, and the whole process is over.

In the first day or two after cleaning, the air blown by the air conditioner may have a slight scent of cleaning agent. This is normal and will dissipate in a few days.

When it comes to daily maintenance, it is recommended that everyone clean the air-conditioning system once every year before summer and winter. When using the vehicle normally, you can turn off the A/C two or three minutes before arriving at the destination. This method of using natural wind to dry the condensed water inside the pipes can effectively reduce the occurrence of mold growth.
